“Working Stronger” Workplace Mental Health Conference

Sarah B. represented N2NPS in A4 PANEL: POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS – STORIES FROM FIRST RESPONDERS In this panel, frontline healthcare workers tell their stories and explore how peer support programs have helped them heal from post-traumatic stress and other occupational stress injuries. Exploring peer support programs, mental health supports at work and how to manage mental health, panellists discussed their own lived experiences and shared supports that have worked for them. Working on the frontlines, these emergency and healthcare personnel have helped make mental health matter in communities and workplaces across Alberta and used this panel to share how their story may become someone else’s survival guide.

Mood Disorders Society of Canada announces N2NPS as 2022 Recipient of the Jordan James Pickell Award

The Mood Disorders Society of Canada is proud to announce ‘Nurse 2 Nurse Peer Support ’ as the 2022 recipient of the Jordan James Pickell Mental Health Achievement Recognition Award.
This award is presented to an organization who has made outstanding contributions to mental health education and anti-stigma activities that have had a positive impact on the mental health community. Specifically, by actively engaging students and staff in understanding and accepting mental illness and the importance of mental health.
“Our post-COVID 19 world continues to apply increased pressure and workload to our frontline healthcare workers. It is our pleasure to announce the recipient of the national Jordan James Pickell Award in 2022 as ‘Nurse 2 Nurse Peer Support.” says Dave Gallson, National Executive Director of MDSC.

Sarah B. was a finalist in the i4 Launchpad competition to receive program funding and support. Although N2NPS did not win, we thank i4 Launchpad for inviting N2NPS to participate in the competition.

Katrina S., Sarah B., Sarah K. attended the Workers Memorial Day ceremony in Edmonton, AB at Notley Park to honour the workers injured, suffered illness, or killed in Alberta workplaces. Advocate for improving mental health resources for nurses.
